I agree. It's the story that counts. It's inevitable that it'll be redone. It should be redone. Now, whether "CotT" is good telling the mythology or just better special effects is another thing. None can be "better than the original." And, so I think that reading the originals, then seeing the films, is even better. Otoh, in terms of sentimentality, I like the versions that I saw as a kid. In a way, I wish there were more movies that weren't remakes, but that might be a wish for another childhood. Yeah, that's it; I wish there were more movies that made me feel like a kid again
Not sure a new CotT will do it, but will at least give it a try on dvd.
