Just saw this. Ah. An artist and community leader has passed.
Like many here, I never met DeVere, but exchanged messages with him on the old board. I remember first finding EF and being bowled over by the graphic design, and well remember the pics of DeVere, Delves and Fish (who I had read about in the old "Inside Kung Fu" mag) training in the park when I first came aboard. I realised both from the people on-site and the information being imparted that EF had the potential to be far, far better than any of the commercial MA magazines. And so it proved.
Joining, I found the community friendly, fun, welcoming and well informed... hell, Tom was the bloke who kindly taught me, via PM, the (now essential) cyber lingo - from LOL to MTFU. This whole board exists thanks to DeVere's talent, time and generosity, but lives thanks to the efforts of Tom, Felipe, Fong, et al. Thanks, lads.
This is the best community I have found on the Interweb. It will - hopefully - be a part of DeVere's legacy for a long time to come.
My soul is full of whispered song;
My blindness is my sight;
The shadows that I feared so long
Are all alive with light.

Wishing David an eventful journey, and condolences to friends and family.

EDITED TO ADD:
I am sure the Mods are already mulling this, but even so: If - as I think all here would agree - RSF is a worthwhile part of DeVere's legacy, perhaps an "In Memorium" message/graphic permanently posted somewhere on the site's front page might be an appropriate mark of respect and ongoing gratitude to the man who made it all possible...?
