I love the comics, my all time favorite comic books. But I haven't had time to watch all of the movie yet, only some parts of it, mostly the beginning. But from what I saw, I was quite impressed by the visuals. The design of spaceships and creatures is actually pretty good. I have a feeling that the story wasn't very well put together.

Enjoyed the movie but thought the 2 lead characters were quite weak.

I know nothing of this comic or movie, so if several RSF people say it was good, I might check it out. I think Rotten Tomatoes' users and critics thought it was terrible, so I crossed it off my list for now.

Really terrible movie - story wise.
1h half is enjoyable because of the action and images, once rhianna comes on screen all goes downhill from there.

have to agree,
it is the worst Luc`s move ever :(
my 1st impression was - it is dull, and question why?...
theoretically everything what needed is included ,
but,
he lost himself in computer generated images. They are so nice and long exposed, that whole move is losing dynamic and became simply dull .
I really saw just a few really good films, where pictures plays 1st violin, and it was takes from nature in specific light conditions on "classic celluloid".
In my opinion Guardian of the Galaxy beats Valerian on all terms.
Particularly, painting of the universes are more appealing for my taste,
and
Raccoon has no match...:)

Movie was garbage. Pretty colours, terrible plot. Apparently the comic's called "Valerian and Lureline", while the movie is just called "Valerian" even though it's absolutely about both of them, not just him, and on top of that he's pretty much a boring, average, douche, and lame sexism is the fallback theme of the whole movie.

But, I enjoyed it! Even though it was straight up, absolute garbage, almost certainly designed by a committee, of morons.

Havent seen the movie but recently saw one of his scifi movies Lucy with Scarlett Johanssen, a mixture of Korean gangsters and 'down the rabbit hole. Liked it a lot, Scarlett was spectacular

Movie was pretty bad. Neat visuals but both of the main characters were annoying, especially the guy. The weak main plot was sidelined by too much inconsequential stuff. e.g., the Rihanna dance sequence was ridiculously long for something just to explain she can morph. The scene is neat but you almost forget the main story by the end of it. Sad because the beginning was pretty neat and there's clearly a lot of creativity involved.
