I am pretty sure one of the first books I had on Chen style was this teacher
I remember the wall behind hin because of the small bricks
His journey from Chen to yang would be interesting
The form looks very yang style
Don't put power into the form let it naturally arise from the form

Wayne: He never wrote any books - he was just one of those under the radar guys who just practiced the art sincerely for his own sake, and was lucky to meet some of the greats on his journey. He didn't really teach either, except Torben and some few other people.

Something completely different now from '05, when Torben was practicing Huang style taiji: https://vimeo.com/228944900

Thanks Marvin - Torben may get Master Wu to do a workshop in Denmark in the near future. He is soft, soft, soft like piece of cloth at all times according to Torben

Torben has just posted an article on standing meditation with som impressions of it from both the Master Huang system og Taiji and with Sam Tam: https://exploringtaiji.com/standing-med ... an-zhuang/

Hello, I'd like to maintain a 'cool post count' of 108 posts. This particular post has gone beyond that number and has therefore expired.

I'm sorry if you were looking for some old information but I'll do my best to answer you if you send me a DM with a question in it.

Towards the end of his life Huang was talking about starting a white crane school in New Zealand
I think he went back to his first love

Wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole :/ truth is, I can't.

That’s an interesting statement; would you care to elaborate? I guess you’re not saying “it isn't Taijiquan” because of the demonstrated technique itself, but rather because of the body mechanics and/or strategy and/or whatever. So what’s your objection? Is it the feet-to-hands wave mechanic that you see as being part of White Crane and not compatible with Taijiquan? Or other things?

(My questions are certainly not meant ironically or sarcastically – I’m sincerely curious :) )
Do not make the mistake of giving up the near in order to seek the far.

Blog post from a fellow student about his 1 month stay with Sam Tam. It contains 3 videos with Sam "playing" a little with him - few videos of Sam exist in public, so it is interesting to read for those alone.
