Battle of the IQ's

Postby KEND on Tue Oct 10, 2017 9:07 am

Trump is boasting about his IQ, does it mean anything. His claim for 156 is shaky at the best, he transferred to Wharton so there is no SAT test and spent the rest of his time hanging on his father's coat tails. Tillotsen graduated as a civil engineer and became CEO of Exxon, quite an accomplishment. BRING IT ON.
There are many IQ tests, in the USA the following appears to be most used

Wechsler (WAIS–III) 1997 IQ test classification
IQ Range ("deviation IQ")
IQ Classification
130 and above
Very superior
120–129
Superior
110–119
High average
90–109
Average
80–89
Low average
70–79
Borderline
69 and below
Extremely low
In the UK Mensa tests as follows
British Mensa can offer supervised tests using two separate, industry-standard tests, the Cattell III B and the Cattell Culture Fair III A. A score which puts you in the top two per cent of the population on either of these papers would qualify you for membership of Mensa. An adult can only get a maximum IQ of 161 on the Cattell III B test and 183 on Culture Fair.
A top two per cent score on Cattell III B would be 148 or over, while for Culture Fair it is 132 or over.
The two papers test different types of IQ. Cattell III B includes a lot of verbal reasoning, while Culture Fair - as the name suggests - is more suitable for people for whom English is not their first language and for those with language processing problems such as dyslexia. It has no words, only diagrams and images.

They could each take the Mensa test. But, IQ is relative to age and experience. Besides, no one thinks that Trump has better than an 8th grade writing level (not his ghost writers, nor anyone who listens to his speech). He may be super bright when it comes to convincing people to buy real estate. It doesn't mean he can do calculus or that he knows much about biology, chemistry or history. What we know is that he has said that he has the biggest vocabulary and uses the best words.

I doubt there'll be any search for academic records, and many suits if they're released. Transcripts aren't public records unless the student releases them. So, both men are free to release their academic achievement records.

Aw, it didn't take a genius to figure this out.

President Trump did not imply he was smarter than Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, his top spokesperson said Tuesday, claiming his offer for both to take an IQ test was a joke.

"The president certainly never implied that the secretary of State was not intelligent. He made a joke. Nothing more than that," White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Tuesday.

Sanders said the two men "had a great visit at lunch" and reiterated Trump has confidence in his secretary of State.

Sanders's comments came after an interview Trump gave earlier on Tuesday, in which he suggested he could beat Tillerson at an IQ test.

That remark follows a report from NBC News last week that Tillerson, frustrated with the president, called Trump a "moron."

Yep, us suckers taking him seriously again. Joke = fake.

His vocabulary seems to always include 'great' and the worst he can say about a person is that he is a 'loser'. maybe its the equivalent of the millennial 'like'

He's smart in a P.T. Barnum sort of way. He relies on a set format that, when speaking politically, will revolve on some form of collision between "us" and "them." For ex., "they want to take away our guns" or "they want to destroy our religion" or country, values, etc. Then, he'll sprinkle in a few insults about them, all the while using the words "great, huge, tremendous" when referring to anything he proposes.

It's not as simple as using filler words. Millennials don't use "like" as a code; it's just lazy speech. Barnum, otoh, would have a sign for customers in his exhibits that urged them to go through a door and see "the fabulous egress." Oh, and if you think the Barnum reference is inappropriate, just look the man up.

Still, it'd be great to see that IQ test result. Betcha Dubya would put him to shame. Not as sure about Dan Quayle, but he may have been given a bad rap based on the figures to whom he was compared. History will have a field day... that's if the records are not purged.

He does seem good at pointing out the sides of the topic and appearing to be on the side he's appealing too. Most politicians do that, I suppose.

He's normal. What's the problem? Well, that unauthorized email servers are not a problem, now? Oh well, I'm waiting for his condemnation of Weinstein :).

Don't forget the mistresses and adultery. Then again, must be puny compared to Bill Clinton and Hugh Hefner. But you're right about the IQ thing.

Trump having a high IQ might explain why you have trouble understanding him.
