Don't know about xing I animals, my focus was primarily LHPF, I learned the five fist for understanding power but the Form gave me the energies. Not sure if he ever published the animals video, I do know years ago there was a LHPF animal DVD going around.

I know this move and I wouldn't dare try it without warming the knees up first.

I've never seen a sensible application myself but it is a great workout for those particular muscles and ligaments.

It makes more sense with a weapon, but direct application can be like a pull down on the arm/shoulder dislocation possibly, with then an uppercut into the throat or belly or whatever of the falling body.
It's more about the up and down and pulling and drilling than a specific call and response technique, imho
The form is the notes, the quan is the music

I saw no martial use whatever.
I define internal martial art as unusual muscle recruitment and leave it at that. If my definition is incomplete, at least it is correct so far as it goes.

- Kick to the knee, uppercut to the chin.
- When your opponent blocks, you grab his blocking arm and punch on his face.

While he does all that, I will walk away in disgust.
