Off topic...bull whip cracking is an quite widespread practice in China. The whips at use is made of steel chain thicker near the handle and gradually thinner outward for about 3/4 of its length,while the outer 25% is some braided textile. Some are quite long and heavy to handle......It could very well be so that the classically bullwhip where a more common tool up in the north/Manchuria/Mongolia...Zhang Zhaodong is said to have been handy with the bullwhip.
