Wow! So for a total of $11,200, you can be a lineage disciple of Chen style AND a lineage disciple of Shaolin, too! (You may not have a single thing to teach anyone, though...)

(I will charge only $500 to become a disciple of me, though - any takers? Sounds like a good way to make money...)

"Buy in"??? Interesting choice of words. ;D

No, Jake, that rumor isn't true or even close ... ::)

So care to share the truth then??
Buy in is appropriate in many instances.
Thanks

I'd like to know how much it cost to "buy in" and how much it cost to do the private lessons with one of these Chen masters. Then I'd want to meet a student who paid to buy in and who paid for the private lessons and see if they were worth it.

Meaning to say...

If you're in the area I'd like to meet you at Shenwu for open mat and do some uncooperative push hands to take down (stand up grappling/striking). I'm curious to see/feel some Chen Tai Ji Quan skills. Of course this is for comparative analysis purposes and not a challenge.

Training with the Chen's... $$$$$$$!

Getting beat up by Tim Cartmell and Glen Rosenzweig (aka "secret weapon") for the past 8 years, PRICELESS!

My wife and I gave $500 each, but CXW told us we didn't have to give anything, it was up to us. When he asked us to become his disciples, he said the money would go to the fund helping restore Chenjiagou.

Buy in is appropriate in many instances.
Thanks

Maybe so, I don't know.

Your quess is as good as mine, I don't really care one way or the other. I just know what he said at time when he asked us.

Cool, Thanks!

boy you guys are worse than a gin soaked sewing circle for gossip...$10000...lolz

truth is 95%+ of chen taijiquan people train form and play at the combat side with ph or whatever...as long as theres money to be made showing a form/routine with next to no application then people looking for real chen ima are generally fudged...but having had my hands on some chen masters I know its there..Zhang Dong Wu last summer well and truly had me bent up no matter how I tried to get him, liming yue threw me around like a rag doll at a time I was benching 150kg+...the grounding, power, explosive force, its there, but wheres the testing...its frustrating that testing on "the mat" isn't more of a part of Chen, and that teachers that can really do the do are rarer than hens teeth.
What I really need right now is a montage....
