Liu Weixiang - interesting set, also interesting because Liu was a disciple of Guo Yunshen (whose line is fairly rare now).

I remember it was called xingjing, right? Do you know if Liu created the set, or maybe some ideas about it?

Liu created this form himself. The form is very short. He repeated the form twice. The first 1/2 of the form is identical to the 2nd 1/2.

That's common for Xingyi linking sets, you go forward, turn around, and then back, turn around again and finish. It allows for it to be drilled repeatedly over and over again.

The only form that isn't really like that is Za Shi Chui, at least the one I learned. But you can still drill it over and over again, it just doesn't repeat itself.

After 1000 pi a day, it seems it would be a forgone conclusion that long fist, mantis fist or Tai hi fist is all the same fist. After all isn’t that the only motivation for training seriously.
