i think that is putting it very mildly

i am not sure if you know this, chinese have a stew dish called lu3
for some old and established restaurants in china and taiwan, the
original stew soup has not been changed for decades; some even
proudly proclaim their stew is not changed for a century.

the restaurant owner just keep adding more water/soup, spices
and condiments, and more ingredients to the original stew pot

i like mine with black soy sauce and more ginger
after eating, qi energy come immediately :)

I really am enjoying Scott Park Phillips book on Taoism and Tai Chi

Also, Jordan Peterson is exploiting his university credentials to promote a pop version of fascism and is a terrible human being. Please don't support him.

lol, it was in response to the original blog link post, which included a Peterson video. The fact that I'm seeing more and more of that guy is frightening

Boo. Still enjoy the book but that's super disappointing to learn.

(Also, not to get too off topic, but the issue of administration pay in Universities is a huge problem, but the issue is caused by standard Neoliberalism and not by people who use they pronouns and "postmodern cultural marxist" conspiracy theories)

Mrs. Peterson wraps some fantastic bigotry around obvious platitudes and people are falling all over themselves lining up to kiss her ass. I hope she follows through and debates zisek

Lol, it'll be fun to watch zizek eat him alive, but unfortunately there'll also just be the usual JP saying dumb nonsense along with 1,001 youtube uploads of "PeTerSon DesTorYs a MarXiSt in DeBAte"

Bao, as a long time practitioner of all three Chen styles (and Yang too) I can tell you that the original Chen small frame is quite athletic. In the first routine it has double jump kicks and the mule kick (that no other Style of Taiji has, including Chen Old Frame and Chen New Frame). Chen style's practice method is to do the first form followed by the second form (Cannon Fist). The two forms are so arranged that the first routine starts facing north and ends facing south. As soon as you finish the first form you start the second form facing south. When you complete the second form you are automatically facing north again where you started. The Cannon Fist form is extremely athletic with high jumps, low sweeps, and with virtually every posture expressed as fajin. In the Chen curriculum, practicing only the yin form (Chen first routine and all of Yang style) is not a "Taiji", both forms must be practiced together.

I agree that YLC probably taught fast taiji, and that YCF slowed it down for the masses, but he left out the yang (Chen second routine) part of what was a complete art.
