A little while ago me Douwe Geluk from Apeldoorn in the Netherlands went to the Wu Wei Cup 2018 organised by Jam Leminsky a big Tai Ji Quan tournament in Hamburg, Germany.

See here a small video of our Tai Chi Apeldoorn Tai Chi team:

I really dont understand the need to do demos in fancy dress. Standard silks are fine... but Taoist robes just look silly.

however,
westerners like to wear easterner outfit,
it gives them misty very traditional feeling.
Something what reminds me back to school days, when wearing gi and belt ranking was as important as martial ability -cheer-

from the Reiki thread
Some traditions, mainly Taoist out of Maoshan and shamanism in many forms from what I've seen, even go a step further and provide certain gifted lay practitioners with specific training designed to permanently implant deceased lineage masters within the system into the practitioner. The practitioner is usually not informed about this happening. Sometimes this is referred to as "preparing the vessel" in older texts. Jerry Alan Johnson's lineage is one of these. There are others.
Could be a case of ancient Daoist master(entity) possession 8-)
