there are clear examples of principles being put to use with no excuses of why it didn't work
or having to use other examples to show it ...

THERE ARE FOUR WAYS OF SETTING THE BODY-WEIGHT IN MOTION FOR PUNCHING: (1) falling forward; (2) springing forward; (3) whirling the shoulders by means of the powerful back muscles, assisted by shifting weight from one leg to the other, and (4) by surging upward, as in delivering uppercuts. Every punch combines at least two of those motion-methods.

Best of all the punches is the "stepping straight jolt," delivered with either fist from the "falling step." It has fall, spring and whirl.
That stepping jolt must not be confused with the "ordinary straight punch" that is delivered at medium range without moving the feet, and that depends almost entirely on shoulder whirl. The stepping jolt is a much more explosive blow.

Hooks and uppercuts are short-range blows that can be just as explosive as stepping jolts. However, the hooks and uppercuts are less desirable for fist-fighting, in which one tries to keep at long range as much as possible in order to avoid clinching and wrestling.

How does a fighter set his weight in motion by a fall?

only a little experience, but this video is kind of putting us on isn't it. it's obvious the young guy is taking it super, super, super, super easy. that said, it doesn't mean the old guy doesn't have any usable skill or wouldn't be able to show something interesting in some other video. push hands is really useful to help with judo play.

The Taiji guy

- has no throwing skill.
- only play defense and has no offense.
- doesn't know how to change grips according to opponent's grip changing.

The Taiji guy tries to wait for his opponent to make mistake. He can't win that way.

I don't disagree with any of that, though, to be fair, he wasn't really trying to throw his opponent.

That Jack Dempsey video was great. Had a lot of similarities to what we do. The zigzag footwork with a strike for each step is exactly as I use it and the last technique is like a Baiquan using Shuaibeijin. Great stuff. I see more CMA in that than in most of these videos, honestly.

The old man skill is good. He knows how to borrow his opponent's force and apply proper counters.

IMO, Chen Taiji style of wrestling is too conservative. To create opportunity is better than to wait for opportunity. I don't like the wrestling style that we both have grips on each other. I wait for you to make mistake, and you wait for me to make mistake. I like to tear apart my opponent grips and then attack. The Chen Taiji guys don't do that.

Here are some example of 撕(Si) - Tearing". The style of tearing can separate SC from Judo.

If you don't attack first, you will never learn "how to create opportunity" such as to use:

- pull to set up push.
- push to set up pull.
- clockwise twisting to set up counter-clockwise twisting.
- counter-clockwise twisting to set up clockwise twisting.
- attack high to set up attack low.
- attack low to set up attack high.
- attack right to set up attack left.
- attack left to set up attack right.
- circular attack to set up linear attack.
- linear attack to set up circular attack.
- ...

You will miss many valuable training if you let Taiji conservative attitude to put restriction on yourself.

Yes it s attacking to make the other begining to give force or it s attack for attack?

You have vidéo about your list of attack explaining what it means ?

I think chen family s master know all this dont they?

Thanks

Many principles can be seen in this clip.

- Use pull to set up push.
- Use circular attack to set up linear attack.
- Give before take.
- Borrow force.
- If solo attack doesn't work, use combo.
