People here have talked about pushing the hand
You should never push the hand ,you can control the hand on the way to the body but pushing the hand is not the object
Striking the head or body is
Hand contact is your opponents ward off
Your aim should be to circumvent his contact and go for the target
Imagine boxing where the main aim is the opponents gloves it is rediculous
That is the main thing I have against a lot of pad work
A target off the body becomes the main aim
