Made-in-Canada Martial Art
There’s a new sport in Toronto, developed locally, but based on 3,000 years of Chinese military history.

He started local competitions for the long pole about 15 or so years ago. Very nice guy; good kung fu.

It has been many years since I was in contact with him but when I was, I learned a great deal about traditional Chinese Martial Arts.

Anyone know what styles he trained before creating this weapon sport?

I know for certain that he trained what he described as "farmer Kungfu" Chen style Taijiquan. His primary style is Bajiquan. Long pole is an important part of Baji training. (There is long pole training in Chen Taijiquan as well.) I seem to recall he also did/does mantis.
