Yes. These throwers (tori) use more of an armpit grip—which may give more material to grab (doesn't require sleeves) and more control (push/pull, defense/offense).

Here Shohei Ono uses the armpit grip for defense and distance control: block opponent's attack, restrict their movement and keep them at a safe distance.

A short study about a rare O Soto Gari variation and a unusual, but very effective gripping tactic that one of the best modern-day judokas Shohei Ono likes to use:

Because, I am wrestling too. When I was young I competition in wrestling, judo, Greco Roman. It’s much easier.

Wrestling is easier to khabib. Noooo kidding. The guy who is known for and specialises in take downs, compression and pinning to setup submissions feels that it's much easier than other stuff. Who would have thought.... ::)

Anyway yes he combat sambos, he boxes, kickboxes, judo throws, MT, even does some spinning and jumping shit....You can even say he does ufc but he really hasn't mastered the art of shit talking yet..... 8-)

The point ... sj or judo? The answer - why dismiss other great styles if they are accessible. Hell I'd give glima, sumo, cornish etc etc a shot if it was available because it's all wrestling at the end of the day with different cultural references and rule sets.

That said the more open rules in sport fighting the more interesting.

Yup. Comfort across a wide range of disciplines is the key.
