Uh, you guys do realize that this is in kilometers and not miles right?

My tread will do 20 km an hour. which is 12.5 miles per hour

I had it at almost max or 19 km per hour which is close to 12 miles an hour.

ah cool! see what you mean. I havnt been on a treadmill for years mate.

Have you tried it on the roads. AFAIK you can generally knock about 30 seconds off your 1mile road time on a treadmill.

cheers

Any effort you can sustain for more than about 60 seconds or so is not a true sprint. It's different energy systems.

If you can run it in under 8 minutes, hats off to you. :)

Push-ups: good for missionary position.

Umm...I would rather train that in a different context. ;D

Anyway, 13:20 isn't too bad. Good on you for trying!

The first mile came in under 8:00 but those last two laps sucked hard. I don't usually run this hard. You're right about the pace. Pushing it means it isn't a leisurely stroll. This pace might cause it to fall under speed-endurance.

About treadmills, those things are worthless. The belt does all the work for you. All you have to do is pick up your feet. The machine does the rest. Not the same at all.

BTW, the score for this stuff is scaled in the US Army and I would assume elsewhere. You wouldn't expect a 38 year-old like me score the same as an 18 year-old, etc.

yes..the treadmill is actually easier because you are assisted in forward motion and don't actually have to carry your weight forward as it is done for you.

so in that sense, I cheated. heh heh

running outside put me over 8 by a quarter minute.

so there you go, my hats off to the 100 club again.

the push ups and curl ups remain unchanged.

also, it's not a sprint so much as it is a run at a good pace.
