The bow analogy of Laozi

“Infinity is like a bow bending. As the upper tip lowers, the lower tip raises. When excess in one area is decreased, insufficiency in another is bulked up.” (Paraphrased by Paul Brennan in 2007, from Daodejing chapter 77)

This is a good analogy to the concept of oneness in a strike such as idioms of five bows issue together, straight from curves, unity of heaven and men, etc. The same tension is running through the whole body when issuing a strike.
