Does anyone have any resources for seeing what the Weituo Gong training from Liuhebafa looks like? I've been doing some Yiquan and would be interested in comparing and contrasting.

Thank you. Yes, Weituo Pusa is definitely who I'm researching. There are many interesting stories that I need to bookmark more.

From my studies it looks like Weituo Pusa (said to be Skanda) has been combined with aspects of a Daoist god Jin Jia Shen (Gold Metal Deity?), and Vajrapani (who also emanates as Dashizhi Pusa). Wan Laisheng posited that the Liuhemen arts were associated to Weituo. Learning the esoteric has really accelerated what's given to me by my lineage seniors.

I have come across a family inherited art which is very similar to LHBF in the way it moves, and its core principle. The art is from Shaolin Temple at the time of Yue Fei. Their training methods, principles, herbal formulas, and others are kept in a book which is very very old even from the look of it.

Wow. I'd be interested in any more information you'd like to share.

I bought it up as I think LHBF is not just from Daoism. Its five words song, and LHBF song have things more than just Daoist. I was not surprise when I heard from somebody long ago saying it has Shaolin elements. Its my own encounter, maybe I am wrong. Those ancient arts are going to disappear if you know what are in the oath.

I feel with Xinyi right in the name it probably has some relationship to Yue Fei.

Some people likes to attach to somebody famous. I always try to keep myself open and would only conclude until I can have solid information and evidence. I can't even convince myself that LHBF is from Chen Tuen, Shaolin from Damo, Wu Tang from Zhang Sanfeng.....etc. I do believe Yiquan is from Wang Xiang Zhai. I research on kung fu styles with a focus to figure out their developments, changes, its characters and taste and trying to get a peek on the source of CMA principles. Yue Fei was somehow related to the art I mentioned. But that art resembles LHBF much more than XingYi.

The time sounds about right if it's the same one. Though I don't believe that it has any connection to Yue Fei. It could be even older. Old Shaolin doesn't look like Changquan. Those arts have a closer resemblance to IMA. Especially close to LHBF and Old Wu (Yuxiang) style TJQ (Not Dao).

Those books would not be published anywhere. It has been kept in the family from generation to generation. The book was in my possession before, and I have passed it to somebody else. I don't want to take the responsibilies on keeping the book. it bothered me a lot on how to deal with it when I am going to die. I don't have the decisiveness to burn it to ash.

The reason I find an interesting correlation between Yue Fei and Weituo is the transformation body references. There are stories of gods and demigods being taken to heaven and remade into garuda-like forms and then sent back. I am following a trail on the Buddhist side of things as I'm familiar with the Mao Shan and Wudang sides of my transmissions but am just now learning the Pure Land practices.
