We have a winner! Give that man a cigar and pop a top on a cold one for him. That's it in a nutshell. ;D

Hitting is offense. But both running and yielding are defense.

- Boxing is good in jab. cross, hook, uppercut (offense skill).
- CMA such as WC is good in Tan Shou, Fu Shou, Bong Shou (defense skill).

Why difference emphasis are used for different MA systems?

Ok, how about this:

Palm strike like Bagua, Fist like Xingyi, Push like Tai Chi ;D

Best offense is a good defense.

Taijiquan yielding done properly is very offensive.

In hsing I hitting can be a defence
Yielding while advancing is offensive
Running to the right place is advancing to advantage

Or, you could just learn one system that actually works...

I think all three are complete systems that work
The hard thing is to find a teacher who has any one as a complete system
No need to mix and match
Once you learn a bit of any one you are hooked and want more

Yes, indeed. More, please! ;)

And yet, demonstrable expertise in all three of these styles is generally the result of downsizing subtraction, not one of addition, i.e. eliminating all unnecessary muscular exertion, eliminating all restrictive tightness and tension in body or mind, eliminating all distracting mental activity, eliminating all incorrect structural alignment, and so forth. Thus, when these training agendas are made priorities, less is always more. :P

I was lucky enough to learn Fu from my friend Jacqui
She learnt from Ken Chung the son of Raymond and the adopted son of Fu Wing Fei
It is a beautiful style and part of a entire system
Even though I don’t do it now it had a great effect on how I practice all 3 arts
Great system
