What is "si ba"?

Is it a repetition of the Rooster Form 4 times?

What about 4 variations of the Rooster Form?

to hold
to contain
to grasp
to take hold of
handle
particle marking the following noun as a direct object
classifier for objects with handle
classifier for small objects: handful

Please comment and thank you for your help.

Although according to the dictionary the 'ba' in Si Ba means 'seize', actually in Henan MA terminology it can mean any combat move with the hands (so seize, punch, etc). Really the reason / origin for the name of the form is that originally it was literally comprised of 4 ba:
1. Ying Zhuo Ba (eagle seize)
2. Tiao Ling Ba (lift + lead)
3. Heng Quan Ba (crossing)
4. Hu Pu Ba (tiger pounce)

This is not so obvious in the xingyi version of siba but for most versions it's still possible to match the movements of xingyi's siba back to the XYLH version.

Many thanks for your clarification. In Sun Style the siba is a continual development of the rooster form but it still retain the name as rooster form.
