at 2:11, but the better one is at 3:30 where there is a step up, then push.

The one at 2:11 looks closer to a chicken step to me.
The method of practicing this boxing art is nothing more than opening and closing, passive and active. The subtlety of the art is based entirely upon their alternations. Chen Xin

It is not only how close the back foot stays to the ground
It is the whole internal muscle to muscle relationship of the back leg
Just doing the slow form with a few independent snappy arm actions and the occasional jump does not make it a fast form
When we talk about older lineages it would be good to see an example to understand what differs
Don't put power into the form let it naturally arise from the form

“This area is not "relaxed" and instead you use it in a highly active and conscious manner. He says that you can imagine a pair of scissors. The power comes from the inside where the two blades start do divide. This area is what cuts the paper, not and not the tips.”

Can’t shake the feeling that I’ve stumbled onto some CIMA gold with this.
