method which works well for many is a top down head to foot process of:
Relax
Release
Sink
Center
Root
Circulate and Store
or
Circulate and Issue
Rinse and repeat. :)

WHAT DOES THE ABOVE ALL MEAN

SINKING THE QI TO THE DAN TIEN TRAINING METHODS ??????????

Someone please, simple training methods for Chinese Martial ( Fighting ) Artists that we can all use and UNDERSTAND

The absolute most important ingredient that's missing is YOU, chinwoo!

Several people already told you the method you requested on page 1 of your thread.
If you’re doing Yang Style, doing the 10 Essentials sinks the qi to the dantian.

I’ll say it another way:
The first 5 + the 10th, of the ten Essentials puts your body in the proper body shape & that sinks the qi to the dantian.

keep proper body shape; the head is extended upwards, the chest slightly sinking inwards, and the hips folded, with the shoulders sinking down, and elbows pulling shoulders and upper back in to a slightly rounded position. Even in transition movement the lower back needs to sink downwards as if preparing to sit in a chair and the upper body needs to lean slightly forward with head erect, pulling the spine into alignment.
In transitions, do not change the internal feeling with the chi sinking down. This is called stillness in movement. Yang Family

But, words don’t matter. The most important thing is you. What you do with the info provided.

I strongly suggest that you find a physical instructor
(not a video)
a physical person who can do it & hand feed it to you.

Because, to paraphrase Wayne Hansen:
Taiji is literally passed from hand to hand
If your teacher has not got it—they can’t hand it to you
If you don't have it—you can't guess what it is you’re supposed to DO

Then while it’s being handed & after it’s been properly handed to you
YOU must, very carefully, put in the work to Physically & Mentally Realize the meaning behind the words & movements taught to you.

And, work extra hard to put it in your body:
That means hours, days, months of practice & sparring.

And, if you’re gonna fight,
then you must fight to know what fighting is.
Nothing replaces fighting to understand fighting.

(And, it is not cowardly to realize you're not cut out for fighting)
(Fighting when you can't fight is stupid)

(Edit: if you're an adult or almost an adult
and you're on a website to find out about fighting basics
Strong clue you're probably not a fighter
Most fighters have been fighting & winning fights since childhood)
doesn't mean you can't learn about fighting or spar or whatever :)

Then if you want to fight and win with it?
you must not focus on sinking the Qi.

You must focus on not getting socked in the face or thrown on your head.
Meaning, focus on what you’re trying to do & Understanding what your opponent is trying to do (to you).

But!
What ever you do—DO NOT FOCUS ON THE BREATH: Coordinate
The breath is very important!
Focusing on the breath is not the point of Taiji.

(This is just a quick spitball on the "Sinking the Qi"
There's way more to Taiji -- things like learning & perfecting Taiji Skills, etc.)

" Then if you want to fight and win with it?

"You must focus on not getting socked in the face or thrown on your head."

Thanks for that advice.

All clear now on what I should do.

It was what I expected.

Thanks for your word of wisdom

Oh now be fair, lol!

If you understand the jargon then it's pretty self explanatory, but without knowing the details of the methods behind the single words it's no more practically useful than me telling you the TCP Handshake is SYN, SYN/ACK, ACK.

chinwoo1956 if you really want to learn there are some great starting off points already described in the thread. If you're just trying to prove there is nothing worth learning, then I guess you have your reward.

Pffft! Nonsense. There is no special jargon or terminology whatsoever in my post. It simply requires one to contemplate the formula and envision the process unfolding within your own mind and body. ::)

Really? Seriously? The Chinese saying was part of a follow-up comment, not a part of my initial formula post, but you knew that. ::)

Everyone is welcome to consider using the formula, or not, as they wish. As always, what may be a treasure to some is little more than pearls before swine to others. No worries. It's all good either way. 8-)

1. We all have dantian. As I have mentioned previously someplace, there are actually 4 areas but the main area has usually been qihai unless otherwise specified.
2. The other area(s). ie. 3 are usually as follows: middle and upper
a. Shanzhong / Zhongwan (chest-between nipples
c. Baihui (upper dantian????
d. Yintang (between eyebrows)

In Western parlance "the closest I can think about is when there is a lack of xin (mind/body union! same mind), sh*t happens. The concept of 'gut feeling' though not specified, it is usually in lower part of abdomen ;D
On their own merit, dantian training methods usually qihai (lower abdomen) on 'higher levels' induces the wheel (falun) where there is sensation of this "wheel turning syndrome" that one has to resolve but this higher consciousness is unique on its own merit.

The last move of the Yang Taiji "close Taiji" is to sink Chi down to Dantian. Someone had a Taiji workshop just for this move.

I had a few "old school" teachers who gave us an exercise of raising and lowereing hands until we were exhausted. You could not do the raising and lowering of hands fast. Take is easy.
After the first class, it was only me and 2 other fools out of 15 students remained. Then my teacher decided to stop the session and continue with form because people didn't pay to do the same stupid movements for x months.

And the rest was history! I did come in earlier for the next 6 months.......

Did it last night and immediately fell off my retaining wall. Maybe late at night when you're exhausted isn't the best time to revisit this stuff. Interesting to come back to some of these threads a decade later, as I read them quite differently, now.
