RIP Sifu Lloyd Day

Sifu Lloyd Day passed away recently. Yesterday was his service. Lloyd was an incredible martial artist who was highly accomplished in the arts of Hebei Xingyiquan and Jiang Baguazhang. He learned from Kenny Gong and Tom Morissey as well as a number of Gong's other senior students. When he suffered the bicycle accident that ended up paralyzing him, the doctors were unable to complete the desired operation because they broke four diamond coated blades on his vertebrae - his level of bone transformation had hardened him so much that he could not be operated on. Even paralyzed from the solar plexus down and in a wheelchair, he could hold his own in fixed step push hands. His poison hand skill was incredibly painful to receive. His sons have a high degree of internal power if not all the curriculum. We took a student group picture and came together yesterday for his funeral. Sad that this tragic loss of skill and knowledge is gone from the earth. May he rest in peace and receive all merit he is due in heaven.

Brother Lloyd was a good man and a good friend. Our lengthy conversations were always very interesting and enjoyable. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

May his memory be eternal.

Sorry for your loss, Matt.
