Alan Watts is currently advertising cruises in the UK right now.

Not sure he thought that's what he'd end up doing ;D ;D ;D

I guess a cruise is a good place for people to learn to stop "forcing everything". :-\ :P

slightly more seriously, he was a good looking man with a nice speaking voice and a message to try to give people in the West. maybe especially young kids doing nothing but mindlessly scrolling tiktok (ok I do a lot of mindless scrolling of RSF and youtube), having a lot of anxiety, pondering their life in an adolescent or first-quarter-life crisis, could use his soothing voice and ruminations on Eastern philosophies as a sort of "gateway drug". it's strange that little sound bites of him seem made for this use case (I don't use tiktok so just guessing).

Say what you want about Alan Watts, he sounds pretty good inspite of being dead for almost 50 years.

The life he lived and the story he told dont always match up

He was a good writer, but a poor example.
