great review. def makes me interested (won't be getting around to any in-person stuff for a while for various reasons, but ...)
amateur practices til gets right pro til can't get wrong
/ better approx answer to right q than exact answer to wrong q which can be made precise /

Did they use the movements from their training
Did they have some thing that would indicate they had trained using this method

Fighty stuff and movement quality. The most notable case was a petite middle-aged woman who had polio as a youth. Tung family taiji was the only martial art she ever did, and she was formidable, to say the least. She was also a good teacher-- everything she showed was very practical and down to earth. There was no guessing or waiting for some sort of magic to happen when what she taught would suddenly become useful.

One of the Tungs used to come to Denver to teach back in the day, and I knew several of the people who were around and active during that time. Lots of good skill from those people, and some good stories, too.
