True - I met him and some of his students about 10 years ago, quite an eye opener seeing conditioning (grooming?) at work

Thornton is still in the marketing spectrum though. His motivations are different than young's, but, same pile.

Brilliant!

Sets out in easy to understand language just why there is such a dire mis-understanding of what martial arts really is amongst the general public.

Armed with these secrets, I will now update my website to make me appear even more powerful.

The key marketing ploys (secret skills; invincible techniques; deadly arts; ancient masters related buzzshit"*) - and in particular the adjectives used - seem to be culled from "Inside Kung Fu" cover copy.

I haven't read the thing for about a decade....has it changed? Anyone care to post the latest edition cover?

What? What! No secret ancient lineages of deadly skilled masters? Dang...."Inside Kung Fu" has moved on! Perhaps, since the NHB revolution, they have dropped the fighting totally and focused solely on the entertainment?

ikf is not even good for toilet paper anymore. Cater lost it, big time. He was spiraling into the shit hole with that rag a couple of years back and now, he's finally gotten it to the stage of big brown bilge clogger.

Just a shit rag all round that one. I'm ashamed that I appear in a couple of issues of it from back in the early 2000's and 90's

Then IKF is following where Gene Ching's stellar birdcage liner has gone before. There simply are no decent magazines available which specialize in Chinese martial arts.

Any arts come to that. In the UK we have two main titles, both of which feature 80% the same people / articles each issue squeezed in between the ads for school franchises, the latest deadly street style and various MA paraphenalia. Then again I'm guessing the target market is 12-18 year olds

Terry O Neill's FAI is sadly missed!
