2004 Denver SC workshop movie by JW & IWTC

I been talking with JW about releasing the movie* from John Wang's 2004 SC workshop in Denver featuring JW throwing my ass all over the park. i fell pretty hard on a few throws. If you like to see my ass fly all over the place please let me know & order on this thread.

It will be for $35. Right now the whole movie is saved as mpeg4, so it is very small (117MB). The quality of DVD is not HD and is shot using my home video. You could using payPal or check after I have cashed it. My payPal account is 'hsieh_john AT yahoo dot com'

everyOne on the workshop that day already have a FREE copy from me. & couple other yiZung guys in USA has this movie as well. I would ask if you guys DO NOT give it away free. 60% of the NET profit goes to John Wang himself, 5% goes back into EF**, and finally 35% goes to me with the 1st $100 goes to me for editing this movie.....

**5% is for donation back to EF for the software (to Fong right?) Initially 20% was going to Brian at EF.net, he has given me a verbal Okay to use it anyway I wanted including babyCircle college fund. He also wanted me to state that "this movie is not related to him in any way, shape, or form; he just wanted some good SC out there."


basically the whole movie is lots throws with some very nice entries and setup shot from different angles. This movie does not have any dragon arm stuff. Just the throws and entries from different doors.





I have found a good way to deliver this file electronically for Free. I already tried one way w/ JW, & it seem to work well.

Sure you can. You can transcode any file to mpeg2 format, which is dvd format. You won't be regaining any quality, but you can make a dvd playing on any normal dvd player. Not saying that you should.

Sure you can. You can transcode any file to mpeg2 format, which is dvd format. You won't be regaining any quality, but you can make a dvd playing on any normal dvd player. Not saying that you should.

i did not know that.
when i converted into mpeg4 using iMovie i did lost the quality already like you said.
so i will not unless everyOne wants DVD.

This is my review of the Denver workshop

the video is 17 minutes at length.

In this workshop, Sifu Wang presented the algorithm of the combat shuai chiao approach to fighting.

the algorithm is, make initial gambit by knee kick, build a bridge (form body connection), enter opponent space, finish via throw. The mentality is to attack.

In short, he teaches you the framework of the entire system, the six door theory. he shows you how to enter the opponent's space through these six doors and finish. The six doors are front and back door, two outer and two inner side doors.

Most throws are demonstrated three times, front view, back view, and side view. The leg lifting throw is only shown with front and back view. There might be two other throws with only front and back view.


22 throws in all.

The workshop was designed to teach the overall framework of the system (at least that is the impression I got from reviewing the video). It presents the six door entry system through 22 semi-cooperate drills to teach the 22 throws.

It is really good for intermediate and advance player who already have a base and is looking to augment the tools available to him.

It is good for beginner to learn the throw and adopt the systematic approach of combat shuai chiao.

These drills can be easily adopted to be practice in more alive manner with full resistence. so, they are well designed.


why should you get the video?

This is a good reference which take various throws of the combat shuai chiao system and presented in a framework that will be readily available to you to borrow and incorporate into your own skill set.
