Palm is held similarly to the "single whip" in Chen TJQ but in this case is facing up in both arms

http://phillosoph.blogspot.com/2015/01/ ... m.html?m=1

As in shown in the third diagram but some Chen stylists hold the fist differently.

Both arms are held straight but leading arm is held higher up than the trailing arm.

Not a problem. My guess is that Wang Tong introduced that palm replacing the "Millstone Pushing" one (my guess) which was taught by Li Zi Ming (any Ba Gua historians, please correct me if I'm wrong).

The MPP is taught as the opening as Palm of the post-Heaven sequence of the Lao Ba/Ba Da Zhang, old Eight Palms set in the Wang Tong line.

From that link:

However, Grandmater Liu, on more than one occasion, told Sifu Yang that,"... you will thank me in your old age for teaching you Ba Gua Zhang." Food for thought?
