Liuhebafa/Taiji in Guangzhou...?

I have heard of a strong lineage of liuhebafa in guangzhou and wanted to know if anyone on the board has had any contact with people who are teaching publicly in guangzhou. Alternatively, if anyone can provide a contact to Wang xi'an's group in guangzhou this would also be appreciated. I am trying to help a friend locate a teacher. While she is interested in the softer aspect of the form she is also looking for something that can provide real benefits in terms of health and body development.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I was in Guangdong provence for 2 weeks over Xmas.
Prior to my trip I got in contact with with both

I was planning to travel to Hong Kong for some LHBF with http://www.liuhebafa.com.hk/ but never got there.
They seemed were very friendly, so I'm sure they might give you a Guangzhou contact.

LHBF is meant to have a strong goup in Guangzhou.

I also recently found another HK group - who may also help.

There is a big sports complex near Tian Her (not sure spelling), lots of PC's & MP3's for sale there.
In the sport complex a couple of years ago was a full time Chen Taichi centre - direct lineage to Chen village.
They were also friendly, but I never trained there.

They told me of a guy from Brisbane Australia who spent a year training with them.

I train in Dayan Qigong (Kunlun Wild Goose Qigong). They have a great system in China (no English though).
They have a phone number & email & they'll track down a teacher nearsest to you.

I just missed a session with a Master - so hopefully next time.

My wife (who's from Guangzhou) said no-one likes Kungfu, can't make enough money.

There is a strong Fu style influence in Guang Zhou with some good people... You may try finding them through Chin Wu there.

Chowfarn,

Thanks for the links. The HK association seems like a good place to begin. I arrived in GZ last night and will let you know what,if anything, I manage to find.

Fubo,

I've heard of the Fu style being strong here. They're connected by lineage to the Yang family, is that right?

Thank you for the advice.

I know that Fu Zhensong was good friends with the Yangs and learned their taiji, but I don't know if there is any lineage connection. Fu combined some aspects of yang taiji with his bagua, and created 2 taiji forms.

I studied Fu bagua in hong kong, which was heavily connected to the guangzhou people, but i have no contacts for people in guangzhou. But i know that there are people in that lineage there worth searching out. Maybe there is a local MA governing body there that could help.

good luck.
