Master Li Suiyin, direct disciple of General Zhang Xiang-wu (张骧伍)will be in Dresden for most of October.

Some links regarding what has been shown in past years.

This is a rare opportunity to be exposed to some of the best push hands and even combat applications for taditional Yang style Taijiquan and of course, BAJI!!! Shifu generally teaches a little Hebei style Xingyi as well. To my knowledge, he has not taught Baguazhang at his seminars and the Yang style taught is from the Yang Chengfu line BUT....his push hands is from the infamous Wu Junshan line of "baguataijiquan" with a heavy dose of Hao style for good measure.

If any of you peeps are out there in Germany, check it out.

Just heard back from one of the participants.

Apparently he is actually opening teaching the Baguataijiquan. I never thought I'd see the day. He apparently even sold a couple of VCD's of the form. :o

That's BAGUATAIJIQUAN from Wu Junshan!!!

Awesome :)

It does happen, though - little by little, teachers do often let out stuff from their secret bag (the thing is, they like keeping the secret, but they also secretly want to teach people). Certain things I am looking to learn I hope gets out of the bag soon, too...

I think he may be being "seduced" by the excitement of these annual trips abroad.

And, of course, I like to think I may have had some small part in this. Mostly though, I think it's just that he's getting older and not seeing a "kung fu heir" around. He's got a grandson but there's no telling what will happen when that kid hits puberty.

Whatever the reasons, I'm pretty excited he's letting some of this stuff out. I would sooooo love to be able to start posting clips. I don't think he's THAT open yet though. lol.

Little by little :D

Overseas influence will do it, though - as will age. :)

What about his own son, though?

His son, sadly, doesn't really train.

He clearly did at one point but lost interest as he got older.

Ah, well - happens often. It seems that grandsons are, in general, a better bet than sons. :) Or, if you've multiple sons, perhaps ONE of them will keep practicing...
