Anatomy of an Orthodox Martial Art Mystery System
With Dr. Michael Guen

Michael Guen presents the hidden framework of the orthodox
ba gua quan (eight trigrams boxing) system.

I.Lecture portion: Rationale behind design of ba gua quan’s “root system”. Answers to long standing mysteries:

The distinction between “single-changing palm” and “double-changing palm”
The difference between ba gua quan (fist) and ba gua zhang (palm)
The miraculous way Chinese medicine and mysticism (philosophy of Change) is woven into a complete life practice system

II.Practice portion:

The complete ba mu zhang (Eight Mother Palms) circle walking routine
The complete Eight standing meditation routine
Practical applications derived from Eight Mother Palms

Dr. Michael Guen Ph.D. (psychology), M.S.C.M. (Chinese medicine), is a 5th generation disciple of Gong Baozai (1904-2000) from the line of Dong Haichuan-Yin Fu-Gong Baotian. He is a former full contact sparring competitor, a thirty-five year student of Yang style tai ji quan and qi gong (schools of Yang Shouzhong and Li Yaxian), Daoist meditation, and three xing yi quan styles. His vast teaching and clinic experience gives him profound insights into spiritual medicine, martial arts, and life practice.

I'd go if I was there. Absolutely for sure. MJG knows some amazing stuff.

Baguaquan is like "da mystery of chessboxing" You must think...before you move.

S- been listening to way too much WuTang clan lately.

Well it would make more sense if I was not anatomically correct, but I am, so there you go.
Sorry, I will officially stop derailing the thread now.

I'm pretty much willing to agree with qiflow. As far as mix's body is concerned, it's ALL "no no" for me.... :P (or perhaps more accurately "NOOO! NOOOO!!!!") ;D

Hello Everyone

This is Lonnie Neer I thought I was banned but I guess I am not. I will be careful to only be nicinice.
I am a big fan of this baguaquan of MJG (open body method rules) he has worked tirelessly for many years delving into orthodox Yin Fu Baguaquan. Baguaquan IS a mystery school and even though there are few secrets today this does not change the in depth work this dedicated practitioner has done.
If I where in the Boston area I would attend this work shop. We always have a lot of great hands on training to express the princibles in the intensive. Real good martial arts work is always accomplished along with the mystery transmission and knowledge discussed.

Even if you are not a baguaquan person there will be great info that you will be happy with transmitted at our intensives. It is how we roll.

Like Shawn if I could go I would go in a Boston minute, that is longer than a New York minute I think.
I am shamelessly plugging my teacher I think that is behavior that is aloud on EF.com ?

P S if you bane me again let me know why THX
