Free workshop in De Montford University

Session Lead: Mr Yun Choi Yeung
The aim of this workshop is to review the features of Internal Martial Art in the light of biomechanics and scientific evidences. The format of this 90-minute workshop will be presentation, demonstration, practice, and discussion. Participants will be given the opportunity to learn and to try out various features, and to discover for themselves the differences, advantages, and disadvantages of Internal Martial Art compared with other martial arts and health related exercises. This is our commitment to the UN SDGs --- Good Health & Well-being.

Thank you for coming to the workshop USTB-DMU Confucius Institute (CI) on internal martial arts in the CI’s library on Feb 5, 2020, The following link is a report on that workshop with some photo for your reference:

The next workshop will be on Wednesday Feb 10 2021, 13:00, at the CI's library. The topic of this workshop will be on the sciences of Taijiquan. It will be an overview of Taijiquan from the perspectives of formal science, natural science, social science, and application science. It will be a presentation, demonstration and practice session, as we did in the last workshop but no contacts. If the Covid lockdown continues to February next year, we will do an online session.

Do let me know if you have any comment or suggestion for workshops in general and Chinese Martial Arts as a kind of cultural program.

We got more than 80 registrations for this event, so we hope that we can do a proper workshop next year with live viewing as well. The proposal for next year's workshop is on the "Utilization of Stored Elastic Energy in Taijiquan".
