Los Angeles Training Partners Wanted

Postby Taste of Death on Fri Dec 17, 2021 3:34 pm

I live in West Covina and go to school in Riverside. I practice yiquan these days but used to practice guang ping yang taiji and hebei xingyi. Would anyone in the area like to train together or just play around? Happy Holidays!

My chiropractic/acupuncture office is actually in Diamond Bar so really close. Maybe we could arrange a time.

Yes, I would love to. I sent you a PM yesterday because I found that thread from last year that I forgot about and you had commented on it.

Haven't been to these places in awhile but...
There's a Taiji community in Alhambra, at Alhambra Park
Never been to Alhambra Park but lots of Taiji people tell me they train there.

At Bronson Canyon Park on South end of Griffith Park
They usually meet early Saturday or Sunday mornings
You can enter the park off Franklin Ave. in Hollywood
you take Canyon Dr. winds it's way into the park

Large community at Alpine Park in Downtown
Organized class inside. Independent Teachers roam the park.
It use to be mainly a Chinese community. Lots of Qigong in the morning
Sometimes I've seen People who own houses around the park, come out and participate in the Qigong from their porches. That was a pleasure to see.

All of the above may charge a small fee
but some of the people hang out and push hands for free
They're not fighters (even if they think they are) , just friendly people

Chase Park in Marina Del Rey - If you go early in the mornings you'll see some people doing there thing.
I don't know the times. It's catch as catch can.

Tung Taiji led by Kai Ying Tung son, Chen Wei, is taught on Tuesdays & Thursdays outside (During the Pandemic) at I think Veterans Park near Westwood - 7:30 pm
They also teach all weapons but they do that inside and you have to be invited in.

There's lots of Taiji in Santa Monica
Google Push Hands Santa Monica or Santa Monica Push Hands
Also I see people doing Taiji on that Path that on the cliff that overlooks the beach Santa Monica
That's near San Vicente blvd
But I don't know their schedule

Good luck!
If you plug into these places you'll find out everything you need to know
If you do Please come back and Update me on what's going on! :) : )

Edit:
It's Holiday season so take that into consideration

Thanks, Trip. I met up with shenxinhei yesterday and hopefully will train with Fa Xing soon. Where do you train?
