Very cool. I shall henceforth endeavor not to get in any fights with Hop Gar guys.

"Hahaha, telephone pole not hit back"!

Just kidding, very nice training equipment, I especially like the hang telephone poles.

Interesting, to my uneducated eye, looks sort of like Hung Gar/Choy Lee Fut.

what's the piece of equipment that's on the rolling frame?

Nice work. But a word of caution on doing those snappy and extended punches with weights in each hand; for a beginner it's a sure way to tear, sprain, or strain something in the back and shoulder.

Interesting, never seen much Hop Gar. Chap has a well coordinated body movement, and has integrated the Thai footjabs and round kicks nicely into his style. Looks to me like the stance leaves the golden targets wide open though...?

BTW, if you want to see "hop(ping)" TKD, see Formosa Neijia's thread on Taiwan's TKD Warrior.

That's the inside of David Chin's school in Fayetteville, NC.

The rolling frame has one of those "telephone poles" on either end plus other surfaces that Chris and the other students use for target practice. It's a couple of hundred pounds and not very easy to move. I think that this might be an old video because the cart looks stripped down from the last time I saw it. I've seen him swinging those heavy blocks a lot faster and with more power and hitting those wooden poles with a lot more force.

In addition to Hop Gar Chris practices Choy Li Fut, Taiji, Hsingyi, Yiquan zhan zhuang and other styles. He's a very knowlegable and talented individual. Great teacher as well.

Quite nice video- never seen the 'ear plates' used before.

Thanks!

Stop digging up the phone poles, dammit! If you can't get a dial tone, blame your local hop gar guys. ;)

Great gym layout.
I define internal martial art as unusual muscle recruitment and leave it at that. If my definition is incomplete, at least it is correct so far as it goes.

Cool clip. Terrible music. French rap is an assault on the ears. :D
