Yeah brotha. Its been so educational to compare my training with both. My teaching method and deeper insight of principles is heavily Master Li's influence. My beast-mode mentality using XY was really activated by Master Yang. BUT, dont get me wrong, they both have both aspects. Its weird and was confusing at times. When LTL beats you up, it doesnt look like he's trying that hard so youre not usually ready - he's 'mean' by suprise, and with Master Yang - he's always in 5th gear and youre scared to "get cute" and do something unexpected to him cuz hes always there always ready. Only time he's quiet and reserved is when he's not talking about XY. So many great teachers out there from so many cool-ass methods. Im just grateful i am allowed to learn from two of them. Peace all, Sudan.

I never liked Yang Fan Sheng's hybrid of Che' and Dai, Li's technique looks a lot more orthodox to me.

JB.

Both Yang and Li have similar body methods (shenfa) to me, with the Dai and Che flavors combining together. Other Che stylists and Dai stylists I have seen have a somewhat different flavor (just the Dai or the Che).

Yeah. Same methods and family these two. They formed XYD together. LTL is a little more grassroots and YFS is a little more evolutionary. Just goes to show theres not the cookie cutter effect. Every player can find themselves within this method.

I like that ... thanks for the explanations on the training. Really interesting stuff.

The application for Heng Chuan is VERY similar to the way my Gao style teacher does his Kai Zhang (opening palm).

Cool stuff.
