More great Taich...er, Systema...as usual.

But is it "work?"

Or it is "play?"

I believe that "practice" can be both work and play. :P

Though, I wouldn't call this "work against grabs". This is preventing someone to grab, but there's no physical grabbing involved, only the intention there of. I would like to see Systema countering Mr Wang's "monster grips" with softness. Not work against the intention, but against the physical grab ... That would be interesting...

Another thing is that it would be good to see a more stationary variation. There's not often you have enough space (or time) to move around in real life situations.

I know, I am very critical. That's my nature. But it's still a good vid showing excellent practice. Anyway, thanks as always for sharing.

Yes, we go for play rather than work lol

Thanks Bao - that clip came out of the session below, we actually started off against an applied grab, exploring how footwork can help escape. In short, pinpoint the weak point of the grip or the gap in the structure and move in that direction. If it's really hard then hit him first :-)

There is some more confined work coming up, mostly on the ground and confined space
