I think you understand what I meant. The whole distinctions of "Internal" vs "external" arts comes from a many centuries old Chinese term "neijiaquan". It's not an English idea, it's not an Urdu idea. The whole distinction is an old Chinese Cultural idea.

Yes, and I thought this was primary a ICMA's forum so when mentioning internal/external I would be out of the CMA tradition? Although it is interesting with the input of and comparison of MA traditions of other cultures to see similarities and differences, but the main subject I thought was to focus on ICMA

If "formidable" mean champions of the ring/cage/mat then I would feel it was uninteresting

I enjoyed several of the vids very much. Couldn't care less if they have written less than 10 books or run organizations with +1k members.

Nice stories he tells. The 'block' of the roundhouse kick probably is not the smartest thing to do however. Try that on a committed thai kick...
Just understand he talks about 'silat' but he talks about HIS silat with his understand and background and his tactics. It's a bit about talking about CMA to talk about their tactics and depth, while you talk about a specific form of Kungfu.
Most of his silat knowledge seems to come from the Silek Tuo Minang which have quite different tactics (and even to a degree knowledge) the Cimande or Serak, Cikalong etc.
