That whip is for training horses, as for dressage or similar, but still can crack..When talking bull whip it’s very much the Indiana Jones variant(don’t know what kind of fly whip shown in Yeung’s post) although it may not be an Manchurian whip by origin, it might have been picked up the from westerners during late 19th century...Now an exercise tool to be seen and heard cracking a little here and there in China - “Qilinbian (麒麟鞭, literally meaning "unicorn whip") is a metal whip invented in China in the late 1900s. The 15 cm handle is made from a steel chain wrapped with leather. The lash is made of steel rods decreasing in size linked by progressively smaller steel rings. Lash varies between 150 cm and 180 cm and is attached to a fall and a cracker. Total weight is 1–2 kg.
