The student has never heard of a snap down, arm drag or head control? Or when he gets to one leg and it's been pulled back he can't just grab the other one? Or slightly turn to face him, wrap an arm outwards and lace a double leg? Or many other moves.

I'll put it down to respect for the ol sifu or maybe he is teaching the point of being nimble and keeping distance. That makes the video more interesting.

Old ninjas never die, they just become less and less visible...

Let's be honest though, how many old or young people of ANY discipline can move like that?

Perfect example of the evolution of skill, this is perfect for the how maintain thread. This is a man who has learned his art and continues to learn from his art. It’s how you age in martial arts. But only if you’re learning it doesn’t happen when you think the idea and end result is to know how to do it, it’s inthe continued study of what you are doing.
The point . is absolute
