Thirty somethings know as much about being fifty, sixty, or seventy something as teenagers know about forty somethings.

Come back when you've got kids and tell me all that again ;D

When someones hitting their 40's without children, its probably not best to mention. After all, you really don't know why they might not have them.

But to your point...

Some famous names off the top of my head.

Erwan le corre has kids. David Goggins has kids. Cam Hanes has kids. Laird Hamilton has kids... the list goes on and on.

Now you may say 'but those guys are .... ' and everything that comes after that are excuses to me.

Personally i know guys in their 40s who are ripped to shreds with young and old kids. Hell, i have competed with guys who have multiple kids and are in better shape than i was at 20. They are crushing BJJ against 20 somethings as much as they are 40 somethings .. .and they are amazing Dads.

Now let me make it clear that i am talking about MY outlook. If people are happy as they are, they are happy as they are. For me I will keep pushing as hard as ever.

Sorry, didn't mean to push any buttons. True, you never know what people are going through.

But equally, don't tell me about my life - it's not yours.

I dont remember doing that at any point. You have taken what i said about me, and my outlook ... and applied it to yourself. That's on you, not me.

No worries mate. thank you . :)

I’m 53 but people I meet think I’m 35, sure I’m often childish but I think they’re just being polite

Don't think it's weird or polite. I know people from the when I started practicing who, just like me, started practicing quite young. We all look younger than most of the people in our own age. You can see it in the quality of the skin, the energy and vitality of movement. We look healthy, strong, and most people we meet of our own age think that we are younger than them. In one sense, we probably are.
