Looks overly tense as usual. Maybe he should start practicing Tai Chi to start to become more calm and learn how to breath...

Funny that a lot of the made up Montaigue stuff is still better than 90% of the authentic lineage Tai Chi out there. An interesting thought that makes me not be too precious about Tai Chi and just use what works for me.

You need to compare punches with punches, qinna with qinna, zhan zhuang with zhan zhuang, basic Shenfa with basic Shenfa etc. I personally can’t find anything in punching, qinna, zhan zhuang or Shenfa that he did better than what you can find in traditional lineages.

Erle hit harder than anybody else I've held pads for which include Olympic level boxers and Pro Muay Thai fighters. He could show how to derive that level of power through form practice and standing although as far as I can tell he figured that out for himself rather than was taught it.

If you have found some good fighty Tai Chi then good for you. I've only come across well respected Yang, Chen and Wu instructors who would get destroyed by a good amateur boxer. Erle's stuff (can't speak for his son) was as good as I've felt even though most of his stories to me seemed like BS.

Don't do online video but happily meet up for push hands or maybe a bit of MOQ if in the mood (takes a while to get going being the wrong side of 40).
