That is true. But...
...IMO, one of the biggest reasons is because they are too concerned with frame (keeping a certain structural shape), which ironically enough is of big concern in this clip.
And I am not sure if I like the use of the word ”choice” and the concept of ”choosing” when we speak about awareness of time and change. Awareness is something direct, it’s about what we sense and feel. The reaction to what we feel and sense should be direct and instantaneous without the necessity to be concerned about choices. Instead of choosing, our actions should arise spontaneously from our experience, trials and errors and what we have learned well enough to put into our muscle memory. ...IMHO...
