Almost all of the former Soviet Asian/Eurasian countries have a wrestling and/martial traditon and they do well in sambo, sanda, etc at wushu championships so "Shaolin activites' are an excelletn match to ability and how they fare
at these Pan Asian events (read CMA/wushu/etc)!
