For champions there is lots of exploitable mistakes there
Don't put power into the form let it naturally arise from the form

It looks like the classical 4 hands set.

What do I think. I'm thinking what's next?

A couple of elderly guys playing lets gently push each other. The typical response is "its a sensitivity exercise" and that's fine I suppose.

The problem is we never see it going beyond that. Or if we do we just see wrestling.

Just saying what most people are thinking.

Maybe you should have a go with those guys since you are downunder. when looking at that youtube channel, seems they train martially and not scared to compete or lose face.

One of my teachers told me you don't throw a rock at every dog that barks
I would push with everyone at one stage now I am very selective
I don't want to take on dirty energy

Why do you ask?

Given that it is a pretty standard push hands pattern, much the same as seen in any number of schools, as practiced by any number of people, there really isn't much to say about it. Two guys engaged in a standard practice. -shrug-

So Charles you see no short comings in how it's done here?

I see shortcomings in how many people practice. This is just more of the same.

As such, in my opinion, there isn't anything more to comment on in this than there is in a lot of other push hands practices/demonstrations. There is so much variation and so many willing to argue that theirs is right and everyone else's is wrong, that it seems non-value added time spent to criticize everyone who isn't just like me.

There's no point, for example, in wondering by what criteria someone is awarded the title of "champion" in a traditionally non-competitive activity.

Hence my question to the OP, of why he asks about the video. Does HE see something that HE thinks is good, bad, indifferent? For what reason did he want other peoples' opinions? Does he have some specific question about what they are doing or how they are doing it?

Our time and effort is better spent in practicing whatever we like best, and promoting that, rather than wasting time criticising what we don't like. To each their own as they deem best for themselves. :-\

I'm simply interested in the learned observations and keen eyes of the more accomplished players here. It has been made clear time and again that my own thoughts and observations are meaningless, so I'd rather not waste the group's time with them.

I'm sad that someone made you feel that way :) Maybe me? Anyway, I like trying to explain my current understanding to other's as an exercise to get more clarity :)

No idea about the skill level of the vid you posted, maybe they're hiding some stuff :D

What do you mean by using mind on their force?
