Now if that isn't systemized shamanic dancing destined (wanted to write designed... damn auto correct :P) to transform on all levels with emphasis on physical benefits to eventually use in martial situations, then I don't know nothing anymore :D

interesting, seen many versions over the years. As for taijiquan, I think form is more important than things like this which is more like a warm-up.

I did wonder if it was more like a warm up.

As for the Tian Zhaolin forms, I'm fascinated by their movements.

I learned a similar routine about 35 or so years ago but it was not called baduanjin but it tended to follow a pattern of what may be called baduanjin. it is an "older routine that fell into practice and somehow resurrected into 8 Brocade. It appears similar to a routine taught by Stuart Olsen. My Hong Kong teacher (I met him in Louisiana)-1978-1980 taught it as a warmup! I do not practice it but I do the more common 8 Brocade, without the 'fanfare'!
