Sorry it's not about the staff but what is the purpose of the Chinese painting the bottom part of trees white
Don't put power into the form let it naturally arise from the form

Paint trees white? From what I've understood it's just to keep the trees cooler, protecting them from too much sun exposure. They last longer and stay healthier.

I asked before, they said its to protect the bark from cracking and splitting, which can introduce disease and insects into the tree

xingyi staff really looks like the moves empty handed. the longer pole/spear as well.

Yes! Very reminiscent of the Xing Yi spear I learned from Paul Whitrod SIfu.

Very nice body movement and mechanics with a long staff in terms of solo training. More than a few hours put into developing the necessary attributes for that kind of performance! ;)
