I may be missing the point. Ramsey's topic was floating and countering. Lukas timed his Harai Goshi, controlled the way he landed in relation to the opponent and applied Kesa Gatame, in a way that made it harder for the opponent to roll through.

Afa suplex

As shown in your videos, a suplex needs space and is more difficult when the opponent is against a cage or wall. Not only that, but they were chest to chest, not chest to back. That's why the guy walked Lukas to the center of the cage and tried to throw/reap Lukas forwards. How often this situation occurs or can be set up is another consideration.

I agree that Mifune Sensei is showing skills that can be learned from and applied as in the vid you posted. I was just pointing out that Mifune wasn't "beating" all those students of his. The video is often presented that way, and it's just not so. It's still always a pleasure to watch him work. His similar newaza video is more impressive, imo.

Good point. It didn't cross my mind how it was being portrayed, only glanced at Ramsey's intro and don't agree with his "beating them all one after the other."

That takes away from a good demonstration where judo techniques are set up, timed, applied, drilled and technically sparred. This demonstration is better than most others where the feeder is frozen with no realistic reaction.
