That is a very fair point.
But in spite of that fact
That all styles may contain a "Push" or other martial similarities,
I can still easily see the difference between the arts of Boxing, MMA, Judo, Wrestling, etc.

And, I could be wrong,
but I think you can see quickly tell the difference
between a Boxer & a MMA-ist
too

There can be a similarity in "timing, distance, dead angle and footwork." However, there can be a style or rules difference in what is issued/fa (e.g., push, strike, trip, throw, kick, etc).

But, you might have to place an "Epilepsy" Trigger warning on it.

Agree, they kind of gave me a headache. However, it illustrates the fraction of seconds from opponent movement to contact. Here are longer gifs:

Nice. Thanks for sharing. Had no idea they were different. Always fun to learn new things.

My replies are in the context of what I quoted and believe you brought up. The old taiji man pushed his attacker to the ground and kicked at similar times other "styles" push, throw, punch, etc.

Part (Not All) of the difference is
What Taiji’s intent is with its timings…

what (Yang Style) Taiji intends to do with that timing, step, etc.
vs. what the other arts intend to do with their timing, step, etc.

So, Lastly,
for yourself, Slow-mo that middle throw.
Check out the sideways stress that Taiji Guy puts on the other guys lower right knee

I did not say there were no other differences.

No member of this forum is the all-knowing final word of authority on any topic of discussion. Thus, everyone is entitled to hold and express their own personal opinions.

Negative debates attempting to invalidate the differing opinions of other commentators never succeeds in changing anyone's mind and only creates hard feelings which are non-beneficial to everyone.

We don't have to agree with one another on any topic to be kind and respectful to all. Just saying. :-\

Because I thought we were talking. As in Exchanging.

I wasn't either. I was clarifying/exchanging.

For you, here are some frames for the "middle throw." Attacker's (B) weight is on rear left foot. Taiji man pushes B's upper body at dead angle, causing B's front right leg to leave the ground. B tries to regain balance by placing his front right leg on the ground, but stumbles backwards falling to the ground.

Wow-za!!!

I don't understand these last few posts
Because some of you aren't clearly saying who you are talking to.

I don't even know if I was involved in a negative debate
But, because a post felt "funny" as in MIGHT or maybe headed toward weirdness
I was sincerely doing my best to avoid that negative end of the pool

So, Just in case I have offended
I apologize.

If somehow what I posted offends
or makes someone else feel invalidated
Please know it was completely unintentional
AND, I apologize.

Even though I'm not sure if anyone is talking to me (besides Marvin)
But, because my post are intermingled
I Still Apologize

I don't want any of it
I cry Uncle!
I give up

I like RSF :)
I am fine with just reading :D

There's no need to apologize for expressing your opinion, and certainly no need to stop posting your views here. It's all good, as long as we allow others to do likewise. My previous post was only meant to prevent a heated debate. Please carry on as you were. :)

I just don't know why people are posting these videos and stills of badly pixelated video that is impossible to work out what is going on - what has it got to do with anything?

Hmmm, Interesting that you felt that way.

I apologize that what I post
Made you feel the need to prevent something
that I was avoiding
and had no intention of doing :)

There's no hate or hidden meaning or this post.
I have heard you

Only watched bits of it. What are the rules for this tournament?

At first I thought they disallowed kicks until I saw one to the gut. No round to legs or head?
Some wore shin protectors. Low round kicks to legs or waist?
They don't allow hits to the back of the head.
I think uppercuts got pulled up. Not sure on hooks.
No elbows or knees
Looks like combos are kind of allowed
Some basic trips but no touching legs?

So sanda without a leg grab , 4 Oz gloves & no ropes?

As for testing xingyi ... only a small bit. Xy's greatest value is the 7 stars and how it flows into qinna + shuai. This format removes at least 50%-75% of what's done in xy. It's almost approaching asking a kickboxer to wrestle or grappler to do kickboxing.

Ai-aah! Yau mo gau cho aah! My earlier post was a general comment, not directed specifically at you or ever all about you. As I am not a mind reader, I have no way of knowing how you or anyone else is going to react or respond to my comments. Good grief! ::)
