The throw at 4:10 is pretty rough.

I was a bit surprised with all those times he was dumping that guy on his head that there wasn't an injury

Based on the disparity in ruthlessness between the fighters, I can only conclude that the blue shirts are representing Cobra Kai...

Actually, yellow shirt reaches for head control to throw starting at 3:48, as he did in 2016 (in blue shirt). At 3:51, blue's corner (?) yells, "knee." So, blue knees yellow multiple times, resulting in yellow's TKO.

The fights were good this year.

Surprising improvement in quality.

I suppose everyone living in their grandmother's basement had more time to practice due to Covid. ;)

Despite the lack of European teams, and the Brazilians, not quite 70 fights took place that night. I felt that was a pretty good showing.

One of the better knockouts took place early in the fights with a kick to the head.

All in it was a pretty good show.

Yes, but as an open tournament you're going to get some of that.

The fun part of these fights is that you can have a delusional tree hugger face off against a three time world champion in some of the early rounds.

It is why I refer to it as the ultimate kung fu reality test.

This is a nice format for CMA & great to see it alive. Competitive enough to test people vs non-events like forms or pushy play games. Even better than the tappy point play twd or karate Olympic Sports formats.

Pity they removed certain moves like ground sweeps, head control or qinna but it makes sense for amateur level contests.
