regarding press and previous comments defining it as "squeeze"

it can also be looked at in terms of squeezing your opponent between yourself (whatever part of you is touching him) and the ground. in press, you are shifting your weight to the front leg and sitting while turning your waist. this essentially means you are squeezing your opponent between yourself and the ground as you sit on your front leg. as you compress or squeeze your opponent downwards, your waist keeps turning into him and the opponent goes off balance
